Watching Deontay Wilder Get KO’d By A Rando Russian Amateur In 2008 Is Something Else

Deontay Wilder is arguably the most dominant heavyweight fighter since Mike Tyson, with a 40-0-1 and 39 KO’s as professional. Tonight he’ll look to rack up another body against Dominic BraezeleĀ  in Brooklyn.

Although Wilder is a vicious knockout artist like we haven’t seen in decades, he picked up the sport late, and took some licks as an inexperienced amateur. Including getting KO’d by a random Russian amateur named Evgeny Romanaov in 2008.

You can tell from the video that Wilder is nowhere near where he’s at as he takes the ring tonight, technically and physically, but watching the guy who’s recently been talking about killing opponents in the ring get worked by a JAG Rooskie is still pretty jarring.
