The Bills announced on Wednesday that year long starter Tyrod Taylor would be benched in favor of Nathan Peterman, who has thrown a total of 10 career NFL passes.
The move is not only puzzling because the Bills have a winning record and Taylor has a respectable 10 touchdowns, 3 picks, and is completing a career high 64% of his passes, but also because head Coach Sean McDermott explicitly said Taylor wouldn’t benched during his Monday press conference.
It’s not to say McDermott indirectly alluded to it, he explained his reasoning behind the now-changed decision. It’s not often you see a complete 180 from a team in two days, but that’s exactly what happened here.
Listen to McDermott explain why the now benched Taylor should be the starter.
