Rick Pitino’s fall from the college basketball penthouse to the outhouse continued today when the NCAA Appeals Committee on Infractions announced it has upheld an initial ruling that the Louisville program acted unethically by arranging lap dances and sex acts during recruiting visits.
As a result, the Cardinals will be forced to vacate men’s basketball records during the 2011-12 through 2014-15 seasons, including the 2013 national title and 2012 Final Four appearance.
The ruling also means that Pitino will have to figure out what to do with the back tattoo he got after winning the title. It seemed like a good idea at the time, just like turning the other cheek to an on campus strip club did.
Watching Pitino get a forever reminder of his now vacated title pretty much sums up his entire coaching legacy. Kind of sleazy, and full of bad judgment.
