VIDEO: Putin meets with Khabib, says he was provoked into UFC 229 post-fight attack

After his huge UFC 229 win over Conor McGregor and the insane post fight riot that followed, Khabib Nurmagomedov made his way to the Kremlin to meet with Russian “President” Vladimir Putin for a photo op and congratulations.

Putin congratulated Khabib on the win and also asked his dad – who said there would be hell to pay for his actions – to cut Khabib some slack. Putie also said he believes that Khabib was provoked into leaving the ring to fight a heckling McGregor teammate, so it was justified.

Unlike American sports teams opting out of a White House visit, in Russia you show up or end up in a ditch or poisoned. Watch Putin get his paws into this PR opportunity.
