Nike’s decision to include Colin Kaepernick as part of their upcoming ad campaign was immediately controversial and met with emotional, polarized reaction from Kaepernick supporters defending the decision, and Nike gear burning from those who despise him for kneeling during the national anthem.
Today, Kaepernick posted the first spot of the campaign to his Twitter account.
It features him narrating the ad while walking around the streets as famous athletes, like LeBron and Serena Williams, and lesser known inspirational athletes are featured throughout. It also includes the now well known slogan, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
The ad will reportedly run during NFL games this weekend, which will likely increase the intensity of the already heated debate. Here it is:
