Jacksonville State center Norbertas Giga left Lithuania in 2013 to play high school basketball, and then stayed in the states to play ball at Jacksonville State. He hadn’t seen his mother since 2013.
When Giga arrived at what he thought was a film study session, he didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary. That’s when his mom walked into the room to reunite with her baby boy, thanks to a secret plot cooked up by the coaching staff.
Things quickly got emotional when the 7-footer saw mom for the first time in 5 years. This is awesome. We’re not crying, you’re crying.
.@norbertasgiga thought he was meeting with the coaches to watch film when he arrived in Evansville for the @OVCSports Tournament. Instead, he got a surprise from someone he hasn’t seen since moving to the United States in 2013. pic.twitter.com/P0NELC0sRT
