John Franklin III is best known as the freakishly athletic quarterback for East Mississippi Community College from the first season of the Netflix documentary Last Chance U, but the QB-turned-wide receiver may also be the fastest player in the upcoming NFL Draft.
During a recent pre-draft workout, Franklin turned heads by running a would-be NFL Draft Combine record 40-yard-dash time of 4.19 seconds. Bengals receiver John Ross set the current combine record by running a 4.22, last year.
For the record, it was laser timed, not hand clocked by coach Buddy. This is how you go from Last Chance U to a shot at the NFL.
