VIDEO: Kyrie Irving says NBA players would give LeBron the MVP

It’s been almost a year since Kyrie Irving forced his way out of Cleveland to become the man in Boston, and escape the shadow of LeBron James. Although there’s still plenty of awkward tension between the Irving and James, in a promotional interview for his Uncle Drew Movie, Irving gave a somewhat surprising answer when it came to the topic of the league MVP voting.

Irving said that he was happy for James Harden, but NBA players would have given the award to LeBron:

“The peoples’ MVP was James, but the NBA MVP was definitely Bron.”

It’s somewhat surprising to hear from Irving, given his strained relationship with LeBron, but having had a front row seat to watch The King for several years, no one is more qualified to answer the question. Just don’t get him started on the shape of the Earth…..
