Unknown Australian boxer Jeff Horn became an instant national hero after winning the WBO welterweight title in a controversial unanimous decision against past-his-prime Manny Pacquiao, in front of his hometown Brisbane fans.
Horn’s unanimous decision was puzzling because – by most scorecards – he landed around a 100 fewer punches than Pacquiao.

The decision not only sent social media into a meltdown, it also pissed off longtime boxing trainer and commentator Teddy Atlas, who called the fight ringside. He accused boxing of being a corrupt sport and implied the hometown decision was fixed.

In a postfight interview, Atlas told Horn to his face that he lost the fight, just to be clear.
