A homeplate collision in an Iowa state quarterfinal baseball playoff game between Denver and Wilton ended in as violent a hit as you’ll ever see in a baseball game, or probably in the NFL this year.
In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Wilton’s Corey Anderson leveled the Denver catcher on a play at the plate like Ronnie Lott laying out a receiver on a crossing route in the 80’s. The catcher was “OK.” This is the kind of hit that makes you want to run around the room and chest bump the next person you see. It’s. Beautiful.
