The Browns raised plenty of eyebrows when they took a flier on the massively talented, but troubled wide receiver Antonio Callaway with the 105th pick in this year’s draft.
So far in training camp, Callaway has has shown star potential on the field, but has already made unwanted headlines off it after receiving a citation for possession of Marijuana during an August 5 traffic stop.
Last night’s episode of Hard Knocks took the audience behind the scenes of Callaway’s sit down with Browns GM John Dorsey and Head Coach Hue Jackson to get to the bottom of what happened. In the meeting, Callaway said he was cited for having an old roach that he claims was in his ashtray before his car was shipped up to him in Cleveland.
Aside from old school football guy Dorsey clearly not understanding what a roach clip is, he and Jackson tried to get across to Callaway that he is walking a thin line and needs to clean up his act now that he’s in the NFL. Heresponded on the field with a 54-yard TD catch in the Browns preseason opener, but still needs to prove he’s capable of not being a knucklehead.
