Cubs centerfielder Ian Happ got the 2018 season started in a hurry when he launched a bomb on the first pitch of the 2018 season Marlins’ starter José Miguel Ureña. Right before the pitch, Cubs announcer Jim Deshaies mentions that Happ had 7 spring training home runs and could take a home run cut if he got a first pitch fastball. He got a fastball.
This wasn’t exactly the start Derek Jeter was looking for in his first year running the fish.
