The Jaguars shocked the Steelers in Heinz Field to advance to their first AFC Championship game since 1999. The Jags jumped out to a huge 21-0 lead, and were playing from ahead all day. After the Jags offensive struggles against Buffalo a week earlier, most people didn’t envision a 45-42 score putting them through to the AFC Championship. Except for Jacksonville’s star d-lineman Calais Campbell.
It turns out that during his postgame locker room interview after beating the Bills, last week, Campbell was asked what it would take to beat the Steelers for the second time in a year. Campbell responded:
“I’ll take it 2-0 if it comes that way, or 45-42, if it comes that way. As long as we win, I’m happy.”
To be fair, Campbell did lay out two scores here, but we are giving him the benefit of the doubt since his other hit right on the money. Here’s the clip of the big fella casually dropping the exact score that has the Jags headed to the AFC Championship Game to face New England.
