Bill Russell is the greatest winner in the history of basketball, and last night he won the NBA Awards Show with a middle finger salute to Charles Barkley.
Before presenting Oscar Robertson with a lifetime achievement award, Barkley made his way around the room to thank some of the game’s living legends in attendance, including Russell. When his name was called, however, Russell passed on a hand waive or head nod in favor of flipping Barkley with the most elongated bird you may ever see. Even better, it was caught in all it’s glory on live TV.
After the flip, Russell took to Twitter to explain that he was sorry it was caught on TV, but he just can’t resist the urge whenever he sees Barkley. Legend.
