Tom Brady cut his weekly Monday radio hit on WEEI’s Kirk and Callahan short this morning because of comments another station host made about his 5-year-old daughter, Vivian. WEEI host Alex Reimer probably ended his Boston radio career when he said Brady’s daughter was acting like “an annoying little pissant” in a scene from the Facebook documentary Tom vs. Time, while spouting hot takes on WEEI’s Mut at Night on Thursday.
Per NESN’s transcript of the brief interview, Brady was not pleased:
“Well, I think that — I’ve tried to come on this show for many years and have showed you guys a lot of respect. I’ve always tried to come on and do a good job for you guys, so it’s very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. But my daughter or any child, they certainly don’t deserve that.”
Co-host Kirk Minihane apologized to Brady and said he understood the QB’s disappointment.
Here was Brady’s response: “I’ll obviously evaluate whether I want to come on this show again, so I really don’t have much to say this morning. So, maybe I’ll speak with you guys some other time.”
Here’s the full clip:
Brady then ended the interview.
Here’s the audio of Reimer’s comments from Mut at Night:
The groveling to get Brady back on the show is going to be epic. Quite a start to the AM on the first day of Super Bowl week.
