Cowboys Hall of Famer Larry Allen is considered one of the greatest interior lineman to play in the NFL, and anchored the line for the Dallas’ 90’s Super Bowl teams. He was also freakishly strong.
Well, in 2006 before the league switched to playing dodgeball at the Pro Bowl, Allen took part in a good old fashioned bench press competition and casually knocked out 43 reps at 225 pounds like it was nothing to win it.
For reference, 43 reps would have been the most at this year’s combine, but if you consider Allen was on vacation in Hawaii at the time and likely just punished a hotel buffet, it’s even more impressive. He was barely trying for the first 30. Larry would have been good for at least 55 in peak condition.
