Unlike Magic, Kobe is built to run the Lakers

Magic Johnson is out as Lakers team President, and it’s clear whoever steps in will have their work cut out for them to turn around a franchise in the midst of a tailspin. Colin never thought Magic was cut out for the daily grind of the NBA front office, he thinks Kobe Bryant would be, and would be the best option to as the team’s next president.

Not only does Kobe have the mental makeup of an exec, he also has close relationships with Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard, and also has the clout in L.A. to be an equal check on a LeBron hostile takeover of the franchise. Kobe’s always been lurking in the shadows the whole time anyway. Jeanie Buss should make it official.

Also:

– Luke Walton should consider quitting the Lakers for the Kings

– Mahomes is more “dynamic” than Rodgers

– Too many dots to connect Kyler Murray to Arizona

– Kyrie would be crazy to leave Brad Stevens for the Knicks
