UMBC over UVA wasn’t the biggest upset in college basketball history
No one had ever heard of UMBC before the 16-seed pulled off the first upset of a 1-seed in NCAA Tournament history by knocking off Virginia. In the modern social media era of knee jerk reactions, many were immediately calling UMBC’s win the greatest in college basketball history.
Colin disagrees, and thinks unknown Chaminade taking down a Ralph Sampson led UVA team was more improbable. He also thinks the blue blood programs in today’s college game have declined from what they were in college hoops’ hey day, which has allowed small schools to bridge the gap.
UMBC’s win was incredible. It just wasn’t the best ever.
This is LeBron’s ‘lost’ year
Cavs head coach Ty Lue is stepping away from the team because of reported health concerns is just the latest in a year that has been as dysfunctional as any for a LeBron James team.
Colin is calling this LeBron’s ‘lost year’ because he’s on a team that just doesn’t have the pieces to contend for a title for the first time in almost a decade. Colin thinks LeBron is leaving Cleveland and will be reinvigorated at his next destination, but this year is a lost cause.
