Tiger’s more relatable now that he’s been humbled
Colin thought Tiger was done as a professional golfer- let alone winning again – after his internet crashing DUI arrest in the summer of 2017, but found himself glued to his TV rooting hard for Woods all weekend, like everybody else.
During his period of dominance, Tiger was a polarizing figure because he was viewed some sort of a golfing cyborg, but this Tiger is more human and more relateable because of his stumbles and public failures. He’s more like us. At a time when the country that is completely polarized politically, he was able to unite the country beyond what any politician has been able to pull off in recent times. That’s no small feat.
