Warriors don’t get to use Iguodala’s absence as an excuse
Andre Iguodala won’t play in Game 1 of the Finals, and the Warriors, the media, and their fans will tell anyone who will listen how it’s a HUGE deal. Colin likes Iggy, but finds the argument that Golden State needs him to win the title laughable.
Iguodala has declined as a player from his 2015 Finals MVP performance, and is a luxury and far less important since KD signed with the team. It’s like listening to a trust fund kid complain about the lobster at the country club. Maybe the Warriors can manage with their meager stable of four future hall of famers in their prime.
If LeBron gets rolled in the Finals, why not sit out a year?
Instead of signing in free agency over the summer, Colin proposed the idea of LeBron sitting out until next year’s trade deadline to survey the NBA landscape and decide his course for the final chapter of his career.
After playing every regular season, and playing obscene minutes in a taxing playoff run, LeBron is gassed. If he sits, he can get fully recharged and wait to see how the situations of various possible teams play out and pick the best one. Michael Jordan did it and it worked out fine. Why not LeBron?
