The Seahawks are further proof that dynasties aren’t guaranteed
After blowing out the Broncos to win the Super Bowl in 2014, the Seahawks looked like a dynasty in the making, but 4 years later they haven’t won any more titles and are headed into an offseason that will be spent rebuilding their roster.
From the Celtics Big 3 to the Seattle is just the latest reminder that no dynasty is guaranteed and of how quickly the championship window can close in professional sports, especially the NFL. Nothing is guaranteed.
NFL teams need to stop fearing the QB draft bust
The Browns need a quarterback and have the first pick in the draft, but their reluctance to pull the trigger on a QB has cost them the chance to land Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson in the last 2 drafts. Now, some reports say they’re considering taking Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with this year’s first pick.
Colin thinks teams like the Browns need to stop being afraid to pick a QB for fear of drafting a bust because 1.) the bust rate for college QB’s entering the league is far lower than it was 10 years ago, and 2.) Even if a pick doesn’t pan out, the new CBA allows teams to move on rather than being paralyzed by a massive rookie contract.
In a QB league, teams need to stop overthinking it and take the leap until it pans out.
