The refs cost the LeBron and the Cavs Game 1
Citing a rule that permitted a review to determine if LeBron James’s feet were outside of the restricted circle on the called charge, the officials then used another provision in the rule to reverse the call from a charge on Durant to a block on James and change the course of Game 1 and the series.
Instead of the Cavs leading by two with 35 seconds left and possession, Durant hit two free throws to tie the game. The rest is history and J.R. Smith. Colin biggest beef is with the officials deciding to reverse a go-either-way call at a monumental moment on basketball’s biggest stage and give a black eye to one of the best Finals openers ever. The NBA got it wrong , and it cost the Cavs the game.
KD should thank J.R. Smith for overshadowing his subpar Game 1
While LeBron was busy putting up a historic Finals performance, Kevin Durant scored 26 points, but failed to leave any significant imprint on the game. As he has done throughout the postseason, Durant disappeared for significant stretches in the game and was a non-factor in the fourth quarter other than his part in the most questionable call in NBA Finals history.
The hoards of people claiming Durant had surpassed LeBron Jame as the best player in the league are now silent because it’s clear James is still the best player in the world by a huge margin. The only reason no one is talking about another Durant disappearing act is because of J.R. Smith’s historically bad blunder. Durant should send J.R. a thank you card.
