The Patriots’ dynasty is officially in decline

The Patriots escaped with a win against Tampa last night, but were far from impressive in doing so. Tampa had the better roster, dominated most of the key statistical categories, and only lost because of an inferior scheme and three missed field goals.

Even though New England has started slow in the past, Colin thinks this year feels different. For the first time, their scheme can’t overcome their age, lack of talent, and it looks like this is finally beginning of the end of their dynasty.

They’ll still win games and make playoffs, but their decade long run as the unquestioned dominant franchise in the NFL, and American professional sports, is done.

Don’t blame the kicker for the Bucs’ loss, Blame Jameis Winston

Bucs kicker Nick Folk is likely out of a job after missing three field goals in a 4-point Thursday Night Football loss to the Patriots, and even though he’s the easy scapegoat, Colin thinks the blame lies with Jameis Winston, who was unimpressive all night, and missed plenty of easy throws to open receivers.

Winston is often brought up in the conversation of young star NFL quarterbacks, but Colin just doesn’t see it, yet. Winston is still average in his third year in the league, despite now having above average weapons, and offensive weapons all over the place.

Maybe Winston will breakthrough, but right now, Colin just doesn’t see it like he does with Derek Carr, Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz.
