The Colts should sit Andrew Luck down for the year
Andrew Luck won’t play for the Colts again this week, and it doesn’t appear he’s anywhere close to a return. Colin thinks the best thing new GM Chris Ballard can do for Luck and the franchise is encourage him to sit for the entire season, get 100% healthy, so the team can tank in an attempt to land the #1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, which will be the most coveted in years with USC quarterback Sam Darnold.
Even though the Colts don’t need Darnold, they could parlay the #1 pick into a massive haul of picks and assets, which would be the quickest way to surround a 100% healthy Luck with the pieces he needs for a shot at success in the second half of his career.
Ballard needs to have this conversation with Luck, if he hasn’t already.
The NFL should move the Chargers back to San Diego
According to a recent story, the NFL is considering pulling the plug on the Chargers in L.A. and putting them back to San Diego. Colin thinks there are times when it’s obvious things are going to be a disaster from the start, and the Chargers to L.A. is the Michael Jackson/Lisa Marie Presley marriage of NFL franchise moves.
There’s zero interest from the fans. They play in a soccer stadium. The mayor of L.A. doesn’t even want them. The best thing for the franchise, and the league is to figure out a solution the stadium issue in San Diego, where they have a real fan base, and re-relocate the team back there as soon as possible.
