The Celtics build for the future, while the Cavs are all-in for a title
The Celtics have slowly amassed some impressive pieces, but even with Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving, Colin didn’t think they can beat the Cavs in the East, this year, and he doesn’t see how they’ll win a title in the coming years with their slow and methodical approach and extremely young core roster.
Even though the Cavs have had to figure things out on the fly since losing Kyrie Irving, they’ve put together a roster that is clearly the best in the East, and could potentially add Paul George or another star before the trade deadline because they’re always open for business.
Fortune favors the bold, and to this point, the Celtics and Danny Ainge haven’t shown they’re willing to push their chips to the center of the table to get to seriously contend for a title.
