Texans smart to go all-in on ‘win now’ moves
Bill O’Brien isn’t a GM, but he plays one on the Texans, and was busy over the weekend when they dealt disgruntled pass rusher Jadaveon Clowney to Seahawks for less than a haul, then paid more trade compensation than the Bears paid for Khalil Mack to land left tackle Laremy Tunsil in a trade with the Dolphins.
Colin thinks the ‘win now’ moves were the right ones because the Texans’ window of having Deshaun Watson under his rookie contract are closing and they couldn’t enter another season with the prospect of Watson getting killed due to lack of protection. Regardless of what they paid in draft picks, they are now the clear favorite in the AFC South and among hte top teams in the AFC.
