Pittsburgh’s talent is no match for New England’s formula
Pittsburgh is 9-2 and is again on a likely collision course with New England to go to the Super Bowl, but Colin still isn’t convinced they can take down the Patriots in the playoffs.
Even though the Steelers have superior players to New England, they can’t get past them in the playoffs because of their superior system. Pittsburgh’s reliance on big players making big plays can produce plenty of wins, but it also produces inconsistent performances.
The Pats’ system will always overcome the Steelers’ collection of star players. They’ve proved it before. This year won’t be any different.
Insane SEC fanbases are driving top coaches away
Greg Schiano was hired as the head coach at Tennessee for several hours, until an internet uproar from rabid Tennessee fans bullied the school into rescinding the offer out from the coach.
Colin has said the SEC doesn’t have any depth in coaching, and sees the Schiano situation at Tennessee as the perfect example of why top coaches aren’t lining up to coach in the conference. Chip Kelly chose the more laid-back UCLA job over Florida for the same reason, he doesn’t want to deal with the unrealistic expectations of a delusional fan base.
Tennessee fans have been living in a fantasy land with a coaching wish list headlined by Jon Gruden, and it’s now limited the list of potential candidates because no top coach will want to be put through the ringer Schiano just went through.
