Philadelphia is the dumbest sports city in America for running Andy Reid out of town
After beating the Redskins on Monday Night Football, Andy Reid’s Chiefs are undefeated and Colin has them ranked atop his Herd Hierarchy. Today, he called Philadelphia the dumbest sports city in America for running Andy Reid out of town after 5 NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl appearance.
Reid’s 61% career win percentage is better than Bill Parcells, Mike Holmgren, and Tom Coughlin, but wasn’t good enough to keep his job after one bad season in Philly. Now he has molded K.C. into a Super Bowl contender.
And what was Philly’s prize after running Reid out? Chip Kelly. Congratulations.
Sam Darnold is better off staying at USC than going to the Browns
A recent report said Sam Darnold is leaning toward leaving USC for the NFL after this season. Colin said his sources Darnold hasn’t made a decision yet, but he thinks if the Browns end up with the top pick, which is a realistic possibility, he would be better off staying in school.
The Browns have been historically incompetent since returning to the NFL, and have been a quarterback graveyard – see internet jersey meme. Because it’s almost unheard of for a young quarterback to fail when entering the league and resurrect their career, Cleveland, who hasn’t had a quarterback succeed since Bernie Kosar, would be toxic for his career.
The other most likely team to land the first pick would be the Niners, but Colin thinks they have a more stable organizational structure currently in place with GM John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. If the Niners ended up with the pick, Darnold would be far better off making the leap.
