Colin thinks it’s a stretch to connect the Giants poor performance yesterday in Green Bay to the wide receivers’ boat trip to south Beach last week. It hasn’t stopped critics from frequently making that connection this morning, following the Giants’ blowout loss to the Packers.
As with most things, the truth doesn’t matter as much as the optics. And the optics here are bad for Beckham. Colin says that while he didn’t have a problem with the trip, OBJ is responsible for giving his critics the ammunition in the first place where a problem didn’t previously exist. Beckham is still young and needs to grow up. Hopefully, this will be a learning experience.
“I don’t think you can connect Miami to Wisconsin, but you did set yourself up. And not only were you on a boat, but you posed for a picture. This wasn’t TMZ from 50 yards out. This wasn’t somebody on a boat next to you, taking a picture. This is an album cover….You set yourself up.”
Colin wasn’t impressed with the Steelers, even though they beat the Dolphins in yesterday’s playoff matchup. Big Ben was left in the game once the outcome was decided and hurt his ankle.
Then, assistant coach Joey Porter got arrested outside of a Pittsburgh bar last night after the game. How tanked does one have to be to get arrested IN Pittsburgh, after a WIN? And this is a guy who is supposed to be a leader on the coaching staff, not acting like a rookie backup DB.
“One of their assistant coaches got arrested last night. That ever happen to Belichick’s coaches? It doesn’t.”
Aaron Rodgers connected on another Hail Mary at the end of the first half against the Giants. His third Hail Mary completion of his career, and Colin has concluded that the Hail Mary for the Packers is more than just random luck.
It’s clear from hearing Rodgers discuss the play design and the ball trajectory in his postgame interview that he isn’t just randomly throwing the ball, he has a plan. It’s hard to argue otherwise based on the results. Luck always favors the well-prepared. Rodgers is playing out of his mind right now.
“It’s not just luck. He’s good at it.”
