NFL owners should embrace player mobility like the NBA
Thanks to increased player mobility, the NBA offseason has overtaken NFL talk as the lead summer sports topic, and Colin thinks NFL owners would be wise to embrace it, too. Even though the NFL is still the most popular sport by a large margin, the NBA has gained grown by embracing star players switching teams which has made the league more interesting.
In the limited cases where stars have switched teams in the NFL – like Brett Favre and Peyton Manning – the storylines have been incredible. If NFL owners embrace player movement, instead of clinging to the concept of owning players for their entire careers they’ll be rewarded for it.
