NBA got it right by not punishing Zaza for falling on Westbrook
Colin thought the reaction from NBA fans and media over Zaza Pachulia falling on Russell Westbrook’s legs was overblown, and representative of how soft the NBA has become. He argued that a reverse angle of Nick Young’s leg pulling Zaza down provided plausible deniability as to the intent.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver apparently agreed with Colin, because the league announced that it would not fine or suspend Pachulia for the fall. Great minds think a like.
Anthony Davis shouldn’t win the MVP until he wins a playoff game
Pelicans star Anthony Davis has been on a statistical tear, and some are starting to float his name as a potential MVP candidate. Colin has always said Davis is an immensely talented player, but he thinks the idea that he’s an MVP candidate is ridiculous.
Davis does put up monster stats, but he only plays in about 65 games per year, and has never even won a playoff game. The MVP shouldn’t just be a stats trophy. If Davis wins it, that’s exactly what it will be.
