MJ wouldn’t be as mythologized if he played under LeBron’s microscope
Rockets GM Daryl Morey made headlines when he stated in an interview that LeBron’s career has already surpassed Michael Jordan by a large margin, based on every analytic he looks at when evaluating talent.
Colin doesn’t view Morey’s comments as some outrageous hot take, since LeBron is set to smash Jordan by nearly any statistical measure, and thinks Jordan’s undefeated Finals record is the only argument left – and an insurmountable advantage to many. Colin doesn’t discount Jordan’s greatness, but thinks that MJ has been mythologized thanks to playing in an era that didn’t have a 24-hour sports blogosphere and the nightly microscope of social media. If he did, flaws in his game, and personal life would unquestionably dent his reputation.
Brady didn’t play an entire preseason half to send a message to Philly
When Tom Brady played the entire first half and threw two touchdowns in the Patriots 37-20 preseason win over the Eagles, many thought it was Brady sending a message in response to New England’s Super Bowl loss to Philly, and the seemingly endless Patriot bashing by Eagles players, led by tackle Lane Johnson.
Colin disagrees and thinks after missing OTA’s and seeing his entire wide receiving corp turned over, Brady needed the work, it just so happens he got it by working Philly.
