Minnesota has the most to offer the Cavs in a Kyrie Irving trade
The Cavs are going to trade Kyrie Irving, now they have to figure out which team can offer them the best package. Many insiders think Boston has the most to offer in a trade, but Colin vehemently disagrees. He doesn’t think Boston’s collection of B players and draft picks is close to enough value for a star like Irving.
Typically, the team giving up the star player gets fleeced by trying to haul in as many assets as possible, but without a star in return, they always lose the trade. Colin thinks the best chance the Cavs have to get a player comparable to Irving is by working out a deal with Minnesota for Andrew Wiggins.
Wiggins averaged 24 points-per-game last year sand is freakishly athletic. He would be elevated in Cleveland with LeBron, and could more effectively guard Kevin Durant id Cleveland and Golden State met in the Finals again.
No way Odell Beckham should be paid like a starting quarterback
Odell Beckham might be the most popular player in the NFL, at any position. Beckham recently made comments that when it comes time to negotiate his next contract, he doesn’t just want to be the highest paid receiver in the league, he wants to be the highest paid player in the NFL.
Colin thinks Beckham is an incredible talent, but paying him like a quarterback is ludicrous. Even though OBJ has put up monster stats, he only touches the ball 10 times in a good week, and the Giants are only 13-11 in games when he catches a TD, and have a losing record when he has 100 yards receiving. He just doesn’t affect the game in the same way that even a middle-tier QB like an Eli Manning does because he touches the ball on every play.
The Giants should pay Beckham…like a wide receiver.
