LeBron is laying the foundation for a Cavs breakup
In a pre-NBA Finals interview with ESPN‘s Rachel Nichols, LeBron James revealed that he called the front office to voice his opposition to trading Kyrie Irving during the past offseason. He also described his often contentious relationship with Dan Gilbert as a “great working relationship,” and said “we’ll see” when asked if ownership will play a part in his ultimate offseason decision.
Colin thinks LeBron’s comments in the interview, and other recent examples examples sound a lot like someone in a relationship that’s laying the groundwork for his eventual break up. In James’ case, he sounds ready to break up with the Cavs.

It’s been almost two years since Kevin Durant left Russell Westbrook and the Thunder to join the Warriors. Since the split Durant has a title and is knocking on the door of his second. Meanwhile, Westbrook is coming off his second consecutive first round playoff exit.
