Lakers got AD, but still aren’t well run
The Lakers landed Anthony Davis and finally have some hope after a disastrous 2019 season, but cost themselves around $9 million in cap space by not waiting until July 30 to complete the deal. In a salary cap league, every cent matters and it’s clear Rob Pelinka didn’t have a handle on the details and minutiae that well run organizations do. The Lakers will be good with LeBron, Davis and Kuzma, but botching the mechanics of the Davis trade will prevent them from getting a third star or adding other key pieces. They still aren’t well run.
