Josh Gordon won’t be close to Randy Moss with the Pats
The Patriots pulled off a trade with the Browns to acquire wide receiver Josh Gordon for a late round pick, and many are comparing Gordon’s potential impact to Randy Moss when he was trade to New England. Colin thinks the comparison is ridiculous since Moss was consistently great for a long period of time and although he could be difficult, he never had substance abuse issues that affected his availability. Gordon has played 11 games in three seasons and still hasn’t shown he stay clean.
Gordon is an elite talent but comparing him to Moss is absurd.
Pete Carroll’s act is wearing thin in Seattle
The Seahawks were thoroughly beaten down by the Bears, Colin thinks Pete Carroll’s motivational coach schtick is wearing thin just like it did at USC.
Carroll always injects life into struggling teams. He did it with a failing USC program and turned the Seahawks into a Super Bowl winner, but his style has a shelf life, and always reaches a point where his players end up tuning him out. Carroll is a great coach, but his means of achieving success isn’t sustainable because it’s based solely on emotion and motivating. The end is rapidly approaching in Seattle.
