Jimmy G shouldn’t get crushed for saying he’s better than Brady
It’s the slowest time of the sports year, so it’s no surprise that a quote from Jimmy Garoppolo interview where he said he thought he was better than Tom Brady. In context the quote wasn’t disrespecting Brady as much as it was Jimmy G expressing confidence in his own abilities, but by the time it was run through the blogosphere, it was spun as a flashy negative headline.
Athletes get crushed for giving cookie cutter answers and never really saying anything, but when they give honest answers like Garoppolo, they get crushed. So what’s the point? Colin thought Jimmy’s porn star date was a bad look for a franchise QB, but he shouldn’t be getting killed for this.
Patriots don’t have a Super Bowl winning roster
The Patriots have plenty of off-field drama entering the 2018 season, but Colin thinks the New England roster is a more immediate problem that will prevent Tom and Bill from winning another ring.
The Patriots have gotten worse at nearly every position, and have lost key offensive contributors Danny Amendola, Brandin Cooks, Dion Lewis, and left tackle Nate Solder. On top of that, Julian Edelman is out until October due to suspension. It might be the worst wide receiving corps since the dynasty began. On top of everything, the defense that got rolled by the Eagles in the Super Bowl still has questions in the secondary and lost Malcolm Butler. Of course, New England will win games, but this roster isn’t good enough to win a Super Bowl.
