Jerry Jones has no right to be upset about the Ezekiel Elliott suspension

Ezekiel Elliott has been suspended six games by the NFL for alleged domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend and an incident where he pulled down the shirt of a woman at a St. Patrick’s Day party. According to multiple reports, Dallas owner Jerry Jones is furious at the NFL for the lengthy suspensions, but Colin says he has no right.

In an effort to prove he can win a Super Bowl without Jimmy Johnson pulling the strings, Jones has built the current roster by taking chances on players with off-field issues that would have been red flags for most teams, Elliott included.

The signs were there with Elliott, and Jones took the risk. He got burned. He shouldn’t get to complain about it.

Athletes want their voice to be heard, just like everyone else

Oakland running back Marshawn Lynch made news this weekend for sitting during the national anthem of the Raiders preseason game. Seattle defensive end Michel Bennett also stated his intention to sit for the anthem this coming year. Even though some don’t agree with the protests, it’s clear they aren’t going away.

Colin pointed out that most people in life have a desire for their view point to be heard, but in many cases, no one is listening when they express it. Athletes voicing opinions in the current environment are asking to be heard, too. They just have the visibility and audience to be heard.

“Professional athletes are seeking the same thing we all are… to be heard.”
