It’s hard to ‘stick to sports’ when politicians won’t stick to politics
During a CNN interview about his newly opened Akron school, LeBron James said President Trump is using sports to divide people, which prompted a tweet from the President criticizing James and proclaiming his preference for Michael Jordan.
Colin has gone to great lengths to avoid discussing politics on the show, but it’s become increasingly hard when the President will fire off tweets at superstar athletes who disagree with him in the slightest. It’s hard to stick to sports when the most powerful politician in the world won’t stick to politics, even on a week where the most powerful athlete in the world is opening a school for underprivileged kids.
Everything Kelvin Benjamin said about Cam, we knew already
Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin ripped the Panthers and Cam Newton, by reference, in a recent interview, saying Newton wasn’t accurate and lacked overall knowledge of the game.
Cam defenders predictably came out in droves to rip Benjamin, but Benjamin is just confirming what Colin has already known for years: Newton is an elite athlete who isn’t an accurate passer and doesn’t make pre-snap reads like some of the elite NFL QB’s. Benjamin’s comments may be headline grabbing, but they’re not breaking news.
