It’s a great day to be LeBron James, despite losing Game 3
The Cavs are all but done for the second straight year against the Warriors, after falling into an 0-3 courtesy of Kevin Durant’s career-best playoff performance.
Even though LeBron is staring down the barrel of a another Finals loss, this time a sweep, Colin thinks it’s actually thinks it’s a great day for James because no one can question his decision to leave Cleveland after witnessing how completely overmatched the Cavs are against Golden State. Staying in Cleveland just isn’t an option if LeBron wants to win another title. Now he’s free.
LeBron is still better than Durant, by a lot
Kevin Durant went off for 43 points, and drove the dagger in the Cavs season with a deep three to seal the Game 3 win. Immediately following the game, social media predictably began to argue KD’s performance proved he has surpassed LeBron as the NBA’s best player. Colin disagrees.
He pointed out that LeBron has had 6 games of 43 or more points during his current postseason run, and that Durant’s supporting cast of future hall of famers take the pressure off him to be “the man” every night.
KD is a great player, but if he was on this Cavs team they wouldn’t sniff the Finals. LeBron is still the best player in the NBA, and it’s not even close.
