Injuries are the star of The Finals
The Warriors took Game 2 of the NBA Finals to even the series at one game a piece, but in the process sustained more injuries to Klay Thompson and key role player Kevon Looney. Additionally, Andre Iguodala is hobbled and Boogie Cousins is gingerly coming of his early playoff injury at less than 100%, and Kevin Durant’s return is uncertain. Somehow, they still managed to win the game.
In most Finals, a player establishes themselves as the star, but in these Finals the biggest headliner is the injuries, and the fact that Golden State can win without most of their best players proves they are the better team. If Toronto had anywhere close to the same amount of injuries, the Finals wouldn’t even be competitive.
