Harden’s style isn’t sustainable
James Harden racked up 61 against the Knicks in the Garden last night, and has been on a record setting regular season scoring binge, but Colin still isn’t buying into the hype like fans and the NBA media.
Harden is unquestionably a gifted scorer, but his entire game is based on one-on-one isolation and his huge statlines during his record-setting stretch have mostly come against NBA bottom feeders. We’ve seen Harden do this before, but disappear come playoff time when the games actually matter. It won’t be any different this time around.
“This isn’t sustainable… His usage rate is No. 1 in the NBA by a mile, No. 2 all time. Of the Top 8 usage rates in NBA history, 0 have won a playoff series.” – Colin
