The Raptors haven’t earned any respect
The Raptors added some pieces after losing to the Cavs in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, and think they’ve been overlooked and disrespected because more people aren’t taking them seriously.
After watching the Cavs expose Toronto in the first two games of their second round series with Cleveland this year, Doug doesn’t think the Raptors deserve any respect. Sure, they’ve won a bunch of regular season games, but that’s it. They’re headed for the exits this year, and aren’t any real threat to win the East. If they want respect, they have to earn it. They haven’t done that yet. There’s a reason Drake isn’t showing up at any of these games.
“The NBA is all about respect, and the Raptors haven’t earned any.”
Michael Jordan is still ahead of LeBron as the greatest NBA player ever
As LeBron James continues to eclipse playoff records and steamrolls to his 7th Finals appearance in a row, many believe he has a chance to pass Michael Jordan as the greatest NBA player of all-time.
While Doug thinks that LeBron has done enough to enter the conversation, MJ is still the better player because of his defense. Even though LeBron has shown the ability to defend the opposing team’s best player, he hasn’t done it consistently like Jordan. It’s splitting hairs because both are so incredibly great, but right now, it’s the difference.
