Doug Gottlieb in for Colin:
Right now, Kevin Durant is better than LeBron James
Kevin Durant got the best of LeBron James in last year’s Finals, and again, yesterday, in their Christmas Day matchup, and Doug thinks there’s enough evidence to say that right now, Durant is a better player than James.
Doug still thinks what James is doing in his 15th year is incredible, but right now, KD has surpassed him.
The Rockets are the NBA’s version of the Kansas City Chiefs
The Houston Rockets have been labeled by many as the team that can take down the Warriors, after a scorching hot start to the season, and the addition of Chris Paul in the offseason. Gottlieb understands the appeal. They score a ton of points, are fun to watch, but he’s not ready to crown them as contenders in the West.
He compared the Rockets to the Kansas City Chiefs, who were considered Super Bowl favorites after a hot start to the NFL season, but cooled off – much like the Rockets recently – and have never shown an ability to win in the playoffs.
