Gottlieb: Pelicans Got Picks, Lakers Still Won the Trade

Gottlieb in for Colin:

Pelicans killed the Draft, Lakers still won the trade

Pelicans GM David Griffin took the Lakers and Rob Pelinka for an obscene amount of draft picks in the Anthony Davis trade, and delected some exciting, high upside talent to pair with Zion Williamson in last night’s draft. Doug liked what Griffin did in the draft, and thought he took advantage of Pelinka in compensation, but the reality is that none of the potential picks or players acquired in the deal will ever equal Anthony Davis as a player, so the Lakers still won the trade. Even if it was handled hamhandedly by Pelinka.
