Doug Gottlieb in for Colin:
Paul George is the most important offseason free agent
LeBron James is about to be the most sought after free agent in the history of professional sports, but he’s not the most important free agent this offseason.
Although James is by far the best player on the market, it’s Paul George’s decision that will determine how the rest of the dominoes will fall and the future power structure of the NBA. If George decides to stay in OKC, it could result in LeBron staying in Cleveland, but if PG opts out to join the Lakers, LeBron will likely follow. With those two in place, they could add the final piece to the new Lakers superteam in Kawhi Leonard.
