Doug Gottlieb in for Colin:
Forget about LeBron going to the Spurs
The speculation about potential destinations for LeBron if he decides to leave Cleveland usually consists of a handful of teams, in which the Spurs are almost always included.
Gottlieb thinks LeBron to the Spurs makes zero sense because even though LeBron admires Gregg Popovich and enjoyed their time at the Olympics, he’ll never be selfless enough to fit into a Spurs culture where the motto is “get over yourself.” LeBron will always want more input and influence than Pop would ever allow. It’s an awful fit.
Richard Sherman is still hung up on his ex
After getting criticized for negotiating his own contract, newly signed Niners corner Richard Sherman has been criticizing the Seahawks, including former coach Pete Carroll in the media.
Doug understands Sherman’s emotional reaction after being let go by the only organization he’s ever played for and won a title with, but right now he’s like a guy after a recent break up that goes on a date and can’t stop bad mouthing his ex. He’s not over it.
