Gottlieb in for Colin:
Arizona is stupidly foolishly tanking Josh Rosen’s trade value
Seemingly since the beginning of the pre-NFL Draft process, rumors have been flying around, linking Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray to Arizona with the #1 overall pick. The other part of the equation is that Josh Rosen would be shipped out to hit the reset button, and Doug thinks the Cardinals are playing their hand all wrong.
He believes that Rosen’s value has taken – and will continue to take – a hit because the front office only tacitly defends him when asked for comment, and doesn’t push back forcefully on rumors that Muray is in play at #1. If the Cardinals were smart they would shower him with praise and at least act fully committed to him. Instead they’ve decreased his potential trade value by portraying him as expendable.
