Eli nostalgia has created this Giant mess
The Giants melted down in a blowout loss to the Eagles on Thursday night, and Eli Manning continues to be awful. Manning has been washed up for several years now, but the Giants brass has been unwilling to face reality, and missed a golden opportunity to draft his heir apparent because they’re still holding onto the nostalgia of Eli winning two Super Bowls, the last in 2012.
Elite organizations are always looking to the future, but the Giants hopeless dedication to the past has caused the mess they’re in now.
Patrick Mahomes due for a reality check
Patrick Mahomes has exploded onto the NFL scene with his generational arm strength and unreal playmaking ability, but Colin isn’t ready to take the leap that some in the media have already made by putting him in the same conversation with some of the greatest QB’s, including Tom Brady, to ever play the game after 5 career starts.
Mahomes certainly has the potential to become an all-timer, but this week against Tom Brady and the Patriots he’s going to run into a reality check in Foxboro, where Belichick is 23-0 against QB’s under the age of 25.
