Steph Curry is everything Westbrook isn’t
Game 2 of Golden State’s second round matchup against the Pelicans saw Steph Curry return to game action for the first time since suffering an MCL injury on March 23. Despite being a league MVP and multiple time champion, he was fine coming off the bench and blended into the lineup with an efficient 28 points on 15 shots.
Today, Colin pointed out that Curry is everything Russell Westbrook, who is currently sitting at home after getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs for the second year in a row, isn’t.
The contrasts are endless, and all favor Steph. For example, Westbrook has repeatedly said he doesn’t recruit free agents and drove Kevin Durant away. Curry actively recruited Kevin Durant to cement his super team and has sacrificed stats to allow KD to fit in. In a shooter’s league, Curry is arguably the best shooter in the history of the NBA, but is always efficient. Westbrook is an inefficient volume gunner. And on, and on.
Westbrook fans will disagree and say Colin is picking on him, but just ask Kevin Durant who he’d rather play with. Hint: It’s not Russell Westbrook.
It’s never gonna happen for Toronto against LeBron
Facing a gassed LeBron, and a Cleveland team that barely made it out of the first round, the Raptors had every conceivable advantage heading into Game 1. Toronto was rested, at home, led by double digits late…and they still lost.
Colin has said it before, but it’s never been clearer that Toronto will never be able to beat Cleveland in the playoffs with LeBron around. Anyone, including Drake, that thinks differently is delusional, and probably from Toronto. Just like the asteroid destroyed the dinosaurs. LeBron is the asteroid and the Raptors are going to soon be extinct from the playoffs, again. Well, in Drake’s case it may be Kendrick Perkins that wipes him out.
